Evaluation of satisfaction with orally disintegrating tablets in non-elderly people with type 2 diabetes based on a web survey linked to receipt data

In the analysis populations for 1,315 patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), the number of male and female was 1,051 (79.9%) and 264 (20.1%), respectively, and the mean age was 55.2+- 6.7 years.

A total of 49,599 people consented to participate in the questionnaire survey and answered the screening questionnaire. Of these, 1,666 people completed the questionnaire for patients with T2D, of whom 263 people answered the primary and secondary outcome questions. 1,315 respondents were adopted as analysis populations for non-elderly patients with T2D after excluding respondents who were unable to provide health insurance data (such as prescription records and ledger information), did not have health insurance data thorough out the period from November 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023, were ineligible age, or did not have the records of T2D treatment in their health insurance data. Among these, 187 respondents were analyzed for the primary and secondary outcomes.

Of the 187 non-elderly patients with T2D who were aware of orally disintegration tablets (ODTs) and had prior experience taking them, 86.1% were satisfied with ODTs. In general, 70% or more of patients were satisfied in any patient background category such as sex, age, job type, and frequency of working outside the office. Multivariate analysis for satisfaction with ODTs indicated "male" and "twice doses per day" as significant background factors (Odds ratio [95% CI]: Male vs Female: 3.15 [1.26-7.88]; Number of doses per day: twice vs once: 3.86 [1.02-14.63]). Although not significant, the odds ratio was 2.85 [0.93-8.76] in patients who worked outside the office at least once a week compared to those who did not.

ODTs were considered acceptable by many of non-elderly patients with T2D who have prior experience taking them.

Of these, the primary and secondary outcome analysis populations are people who have used orally disintegrating tablets and are confirmed to be people with type 2 diabetes. The target sample size of these people is 400.
