| The intervention will be implemented using either transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) or transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS), applied alone or in combination with moderate-intensity aerobic exercise using a cycle ergometer. Sham stimulation conditions will be included, and all conditions will be compared using a randomized single-blind crossover design. Before and after each intervention, behavioral tasks assessing effort-based decision-making and reward sensitivity (Effort Expenditure for Rewards Task; EEfRT), subjective motivation measures, and autonomic nervous system indices will be assessed to comprehensively examine motivation-related behaviors and neurophysiological changes in healthy adults and stroke patients. | |

Effort Expenditure for Rewards Task (EEfRT): A choice-based task designed to assess how much effort an individual is willing to expend to obtain a reward. Participants are required to choose one option from multiple alternatives that differ in reward magnitude (R), probability of reward attainment (P), and required effort level (E). In this study, behavioral parameters such as the proportion of high-effort choices, sensitivity to reward value (reward sensitivity), and aversion to effort (effort cost) will be calculated for each condition. Changes in these parameters before and after the intervention will be compared to evaluate the effects of the interventions. |
